Dr. Nkono Isaac: A Testament to Busitema University’s Excellence in Medical Education

Dr. Nkono Isaac, an esteemed alumnus of Busitema University Faculty of Health Sciences, who completed his studies in 2022 recently received the prestigious award for "Most Outstanding Intern Doctor" at the FUMI (Federation for Uganda Medical Interns) dinner held on August 10th. Considering Dr. Nkono’s dedication and exceptional performance during his internship at Kiruddu National Referral Hospital, an award was presented to him by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health Dr Atwine Diana who was representing the first Lady of Uganda, Hon. Janet Museveni. 

Dr. Nkono also demonstrated remarkable leadership as the site leader at the hospital for the 2023/24 cohort. His leadership skills have been evident since his secondary school days and throughout his university tenure, where he served as a student representative in the 2019/2020 faculty cabinet. Furthermore, He also led several student organizations, including Basoga Nseete and the Muslim Students Association, showcasing his ability to inspire and manage diverse groups. He is highly esteemed for his cheerful demeanor, pleasant personality and modesty, qualities that have garnered him considerable respect from his peers. His colleagues consistently highlight his diligent work ethic, inventive approach, and engaging personality as key attributes of his professional character. 

Currently, Dr. Nkono looks forward to focusing his professional career on Aerospace Medicine and Medical Entrepreneurship, fields he is deeply passionate about.
