The Busitema University Medical Centre Hand-over Ceremony
The Busitema University Medical Center has been officially handed over to Busitema University by Crescent General Company Limited, the contractor responsible for its completion. The hand-over was led by Professor Paul Waako, the Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, who conducted an inspection of the new facility and praised the contractors for their outstanding work. He emphasized that the centre is comparable to a Health Centre IV and also noted that discussions with the Busia local government are underway to officially recognize the facility as a health centre. This upgrade will extend the benefits of the centre to not only the students and staff but also the local community.
During the ceremony, Ms. Nansige Christine, one of Crescent General's directors, expressed gratitude to the University for the opportunity to contribute to this significant development, which will benefit both the University and the broader community.
Additionally, Professor Paul Waako also expressed gratitude to the government for its support in facilitating the construction and completion of the health centre. The facility is expected to become fully operational once it is equipped with the necessary staff and medical equipment to effectively serve the community’s health needs.
