A new University Council for Busitema University has been constituted at a special sitting held in Kampala today morning. Members from different constituencies were sworn by the Acting Registrar in charge of Alternative Dispute Resolutions Her Worship Atingu Beatrice Stella. The new Council members are constituted from bodies and agencies as highlighted in the University Council Charter such as: Ministry Of Finance, The National Union of Disabled Persons of Uganda (NUDIPU), The Ministry of Education And Sports, The Ministry of Public Service, The Convocation, Guild Leadership, Senate Representatives, Staff Associations, and Busia District Local Government Representative.

During the meeting, The Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, Professor Paul Waako, extended a warm welcome to the newly appointed 5th council members and congratulated them on their election. In his address, he expressed his gratitude to the fourth council for their commendable service and contributions. He also acknowledged the vital role played by various stakeholders in the formation of the fifth council.

The meeting proceeded with the election of 3 council Appointees and Mrs Rosemary Mutyabule, Mrs Patricia Nyachwo and Mrs Patricia Ojangole were elected.  Other new members of the 5th Council Include; Professor William Bazeyo, Hon. Dr. Beatrice Wabudeya, Hon. Justice Godfrey Namundi, Professor Paul Waako, Associate Professor Pakoyo Kamba, Associate Professor Saphina Biira, Associate Professor Annabelle Habinka, Professor Dan Kibuule, Dr. Rebecca Nekaka, Dr. Godfrey Odongtoo, Mr. Muzamiru Mukwatampola, Mr. Aloysius Kiribaki, Ms. Thereza Namwach, Mr. Badru Musinguzi, Mr. Humphrey Taabu Obussoh, Ms. Sylvia Kyomugisha, Mr. Marvin Kwemboi, Ms. Katty Atyang and Mr. Abert Matsiko Mutungwire  

The Full University Council sitting to elect the chairperson, Vice Chairperson, and Chairpersons of Council Committees is scheduled for Friday 9th August 2024 at a sitting to take place at Busitema Main Campus.
