The First Annual General Meeting of the Busitema University Convocation
The Busitema University Convocation held its first Annual General Meeting which was officiated by the Chancellor Professor Vinand Nantulya. This momentous occasion featured a keynote address by Professor Vincent Anigbogu, a distinguished alumnus in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Alabama, USA. Chaired by Engineer Badru Musinguzi the convocation chairperson, the gathering provided an opportunity to reflect on the various initiatives undertaken by the convocation over the past years. Among the notable attendees were Vice Chancellor Professor Waako Paul, Deputy Vice Chancellor Professor Saphina Biira, Director of Institutional Advancement Dr. Muweesi Charles, and Professor Elly Sabiti who represent the University’s top management.
The meeting deliberated on pertinent concerns impacting students and explored strategies to foster the University’s advancement. The meeting also saw the introduction of the Convocation Scholarship fund, a targeted initiative to bridge the financial gap for underprivileged students.
In his speech, Professor Waako Paul expressed gratitude to all members present, particularly acknowledging Engineer Badru Musinguzi and his executive team for their dedication as the first leadership of the convocation emphasizing the role of their tireless efforts in significantly advancing the institution. He also highlighted the University's impressive rise in rankings over the past five years, a testament to the collective efforts of the university community.
