Dr. Agnes Baluka Masajja Joins Race for AUUS Presidency

Dr. Agnes Baluka Masajja, the Deputy Chief Sports Officer at Busitema University, has officially declared her bid for the Presidency of the Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS).
Beyond her leadership at Busitema, where she oversees and manages the university’s sports activities, Dr. Baluka has been a long-serving member of the AUUS Executive Committee. Since 2015, she has chaired the Education Committee, a portfolio through which she has spearheaded the organisation of AUUS educational forums, conferences, symposia, and capacity-building programs for sports administrators and student leaders across member institutions.
Her candidature is seen as a continuation of her commitment to raising the standards of university sports through both administration and capacity development. If elected, Dr. Baluka would bring to the presidency a wealth of institutional knowledge and experience from her decade of service within AUUS structures.
In her vision for AUUS, Dr. Baluka emphasizes strengthening governance structures, enhancing transparency, and building stronger partnerships with both national and international sports bodies. Her strategic plan also prioritizes talent development, expanded opportunities for student-athletes, and continued investment in education and capacity-building initiatives that empower sports leaders across universities.
The AUUS Elective Assembly is scheduled for 26th September 2025  at Uganda Christian University in Mukono, where the ballots will decide the leadership for the 2025–2029 term.
