Busitema University and Ningxia Polytechnic University Launch Global Partnership

A new chapter in international collaboration began as Busitema University and Ningxia Polytechnic University in China signed a Cooperation Framework Agreement virtually bridging two continents and opening doors for students, faculty, and research.
The agreement, signed by Professor Paul Waako, Vice Chancellor of Busitema University, and Professor Zhou Zhen, President of Ningxia Polytechnic University, is more than a formal handshake; it’s a commitment to learning, innovation, and shared growth.
Through this partnership, students and staff will have opportunities to exchange ideas, attend short-term training, and deepen expertise in fields ranging from Artificial Intelligence and Mechatronics to Agricultural Technology, Biopharmaceuticals, and Textile Engineering.
One of the most exciting initiatives is a program combining Chinese language learning with vocational skills. It will equip Busitema University students and even local enterprise employees with practical, globally relevant skills that open doors to international opportunities.
The universities will also work together to host conferences, seminars, and joint research projects, and may establish shared laboratories in areas of mutual interest. Faculty exchanges will include lectures, professional development, and collaborative research strengthening teaching and scientific research across both institutions.
“This partnership is about more than education,” said Professor Waako. “It’s about building a community of innovators and skilled professionals who can contribute to the growth of our nations.”
Professor Zhou added, “By working together, we can cultivate talented individuals with an international perspective people who are ready to make a real difference.”
The collaboration promises to bring the world to Busitema University and extend Ugandan expertise abroad blending knowledge, skills, and friendship in ways that are practical, inspiring, and globally meaningful.
