The MoU was signed by Prof. Paul Waako on behalf of Busitema University and Prof. Wilton S. Kezala on behalf of IIHS.</span></p> <p><span>This MoU outlines three key objectives. Firstly, it seeks to enable the two institutions to increase the number of health professional graduates in Uganda, a vital step in addressing the country’s growing healthcare needs. Secondly, the agreement aims to improve the quality and scope of training and research conducted at the International Institute of Health Sciences. Thirdly, it is designed to foster institutional synergies that will enable both institutions to maximize their impact on the communities they serve, especially those in close proximity to the campuses.</span></p> <p><span>This partnership also supports joint training programs, particularly the Bachelor of Medical Education and the Bachelor of Nursing Completion program both of which have been approved by the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE). These programs are expected to not only broaden academic opportunities for students but also contribute to a stronger, more resilient healthcare workforce in the country.</span></p> <p><span>The University delegation was led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Paul Waako, accompanied by other top management officials namely Prof. Saphina Biira (Deputy Vice Chancellor), Dr. Kiwuuwa Fredrick Lugya (University Librarian) and Dr. Muweesi Charles (Director, Institutional Advancement). The MoU was signed on behalf of the University by Vice Chancellor <a href="https://people.busitema.ac.ug/staff/academic-staff/paul-waako">Professor Paul Waako</a>, who was accompanied by Associate Professor<a href="https://people.busitema.ac.ug/staff/administrative-staff/Pakoyo-Fadhiru-Kamba"> Pakoyo Kamba</a>, Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration, <a href="https://people.busitema.ac.ug/staff/academic-staff/charles-muweesi">Dr. Charles Muweesi</a>, Director-Institutional Advancement, and <a href="https://people.busitema.ac.ug/staff/administrative-staff/paddy-namurebire">Mr. Paddy Namuremire</a>, Director Planning.</p><p>Speaking at the signing ceremony, Professor Waako emphasized the importance of partnerships in enhancing the quality of education and training. He noted that the collaboration with IHK-C-Care Uganda will provide students with hands-on experience in a modern and well-equipped healthcare facility. Dr. Caleb of Sun Maker Uganda and Dr. Samuel Baker Obakiro of Busitema University. The meeting was attended by Top Managers of both Institutions.</p><p>Prof. Paul Waako, The Vice Chancellor of Busitema University thanked the partners from China for accepting to partner with Busitema University as this will promote capacity building in the area of Pharmaceutical Industry that every country is attempting to develop after the COVID-19 pandemic.
