Representing the Vice Chancellor, Professor Saphina Biira who chaired the meeting expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the bank for its invaluable support of various university initiatives. Notably, the bank has provided scholarships to students for skills training programs at the university and is sponsoring several other university projects including a forestry project that is yet to kick off. Prof. Saphiina further noted that the partnership between Busitema University and Stanbic Bank had yielded numerous benefits, including the successful execution of several conferences and projects. The financial support provided by the bank has been instrumental in facilitating these initiatives, enabling the university to host events such as the Careers Fair, Inter-University East African Competitions, and research conferences. These collaborations have not only enhanced the university's academic and research endeavors but also demonstrated the bank's commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.</p> <p class="text-align-justify">On the other hand, Mr. Tunde Thorpe, (Head of Transaction Banking at Stanbic Bank) who led the bank's delegation, acknowledged the university's support for the bank's services, particularly in terms of loans extended to staff members. He also highlighted the substantial grant portfolio that Busitema University maintains with Stanbic Bank and encouraged the university to explore personal and private banking services. Additionally, Mr. Tunde emphasized the benefits of corporate banking, inviting the university to leverage this aspect of the bank's offerings to further enhance its financial management and operations.</p> <p class="text-align-justify">The meeting served as a platform for both parties to discuss ways to further strengthen their collaboration. One of the potential avenues for future collaboration of the entities is the third phase of the skills training program, which has been a resounding success in its previous iterations. The bank's continued support for this initiative will enable the university to provide more students with valuable skills, enhancing their employability and contributing to the development of the region. The partnership between Busitema University and Stanbic Bank is a testament to the power of collaboration between academic institutions and financial organizations. By working together, both entities can drive growth, innovation, and development, ultimately benefiting the university community and the wider region.</p> <p class="text-align-justify">Conclusively, the meeting between Busitema University and Stanbic Bank marked an important milestone in their ongoing partnership and therefore, the two entities are poised to explore new opportunities and strengthen existing ones, driving progress and development in not only in the University but also the region.</p> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-tags field--type-entity-reference field--label-above field--tags"> <h3 class="field__label field--tags__label">Tags</h3> <ul class="links field__items field--tags__items"> <li class="field--tags__item"><a href="/index.php/tags/collaborations" hreflang="en">Collaborations</a></li> </ul> </div> <section data-drupal-selector="comments" class="comments"> <h2 class="comments__title">Comments</h2> </section> <div class="primary-image field field--name-field-image field--type-image field--label-hidden field__item"> <img src="/sites/default/files/images/article/2025/whatsapp-image-2025-06-11-at-11.29.16.jpeg" width="2560" height="1706" alt="" title="Busitema University and Stanbic Bank Strengthen Partnership" loading="lazy" /> </div> <div class="field field--name-field-display-website field--type-list-string field--label-above"> <div class="field__label">Display Website</div> <div class="field__item">General</div> </div> Thu, 12 Jun 2025 05:22:05 +0000 Joan 361 at https://news.busitema.ac.ug Busitema University Renews Strategic Partnership with the International Institute of Health Sciences https://news.busitema.ac.ug/index.php/busitema-university-renews-strategic-partnership-international-institute-health-sciences <span>Busitema University Renews Strategic Partnership with the International Institute of Health Sciences</span> <span><span>Joan</span></span> <span>Jun 11, 2025</span> <div class="field field--name-field-category field--type-entity-reference field--label-hidden field__items"> <div class="field__item"><a href="/index.php/category/health-and-medicine" hreflang="und">Health and Medicine</a></div> </div> <div class="clearfix field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p><span>Busitema University has officially renewed its Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Institute of Health Sciences, Jinja (IIHS), reinforcing their collaborative commitment to advancing health education and community development.
