Busitema University is proud to announce the promotion of Dr. Gilbert Gilibrays Ocen to the position of Associate Professor. Dr. Ocen's dedication, outstanding contributions to the field of information technology, and remarkable accomplishments in the realm of cyber security and digital forensics have earned him this well-deserved recognition.

With over 13 years of progressive experience in information technology and engineering, Dr. Ocen has consistently demonstrated his commitment to success and his ability to excel in high-pressure environments. His capacity to handle multiple tasks efficiently and work with minimal supervision showcases his strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking.

Dr. Ocen's academic journey has been nothing short of impressive. He holds a PhD in Information Technology with a specialization in Cyber Security and Digital Forensics. He also possesses a Master of Science in Information Technology and a first-class Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Kharkov National University of Radio Electronics, Ukraine.

Currently serving as a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Engineering and Informatics at Busitema University, Dr. Ocen is also taking on the role of Acting Director of ICTs. His leadership has been instrumental in the development of various academic programs, including Masters in Computer Forensics, Diploma in Computer Engineering, and Diploma in Industrial Electronics and Electrical Engineering.

Dr. Ocen's passion for teaching and mentoring is evident in his supervision of over 30 undergraduate research projects and guidance of 6 Master's students to successful completion. He has also held responsibilities as the university's web administrator and E-learning coordinator, further showcasing his dedication to enhancing the educational experience.

Prior to joining Busitema University, Dr. Ocen's professional journey took him across various institutions in Uganda and even beyond borders to Kharkiv Institute of Modern Technologies in Ukraine. His role as a System Administrator and his adeptness in designing and managing computer networks for diverse organizations highlight his technical prowess.

A true visionary, Dr. Ocen's research interests have expanded into cutting-edge areas such as the Internet of Things (IoTs), Industry 4.0, Robotics, and Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D). His work in the field of cyber security and digital forensics has made a significant impact, further solidifying his reputation as a thought leader.
