The Department of Gender Mainstreaming Empowers Students with HIV/AIDS Awareness on the International Women's Day

In commemoration of International Women's Day, the Department of Gender Mainstreaming at Busitema University organized an event aimed at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS prevention and promoting health consciousness among students. The session, held at the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Science-Arapai Campus, served as an educational platform to equip students with Important information on safeguarding themselves against the virus.
The event featured a sensitization program that brought together students from diverse backgrounds to engage in discussions and learning sessions on HIV prevention strategies. Highlighting the importance of youth involvement in combating HIV/AIDS, the session included firsthand talks from young individuals living with HIV, who shared their personal experiences
Youths living with HIV bravely stepped forward to share their journeys, providing invaluable perspectives on living with the virus and dispelling myths and misconceptions surrounding it. Their narratives served as powerful testimonials, resonating with fellow students and fostering empathy, understanding, and solidarity among the Participants.
