Busitema University distributes Laptops to enhance online Teaching
Today Management witnessed handover of laptops to various campuses of Busitema ODeL( (Open Distance E-Learning) Team. the laptops were donated by MasterCard Foundation, and the Cyber School in collaboration with Busitema university.
The heads of departments from different Busitema campuses attended the meeting, the main purpose of distributing these laptops is to support staff to engage in online training and those assisting students across various courses.
Prof. Paul Waako, the Vice-Chancellor, during his address at the gathering welcomed and expressed his sincere gratitude to Mastercard Foundation, Cyber School, and the ODeL team for fulfilling the University's needs by providing laptops to every Busitema campus. The Vice Chancellor laid out the importance of promoting E-Learning among lecturers to ensure students' active participation in online teaching and activities to erase boredom. He encouraged lecturers to raise awareness about ODeL (Open Distance E-Learning) while also developing online courses to facilitate learning for flexibility and better comprehension.
He also highlighted that the laptops would primarily support individuals engaged in online training and those assisting students across various courses. He emphasized the importance of proper handling to prevent theft and breakdown.
The Vice Chancellor was accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs, Prof. Saphina Biira, the Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration, Prof. Kamba Fadhiru Pakoyo, the University Secretary, Mr. Albert Mutungwire Matsiko, the Academic Registrar, Dr. Lillian Gimuguni Nabassa, the Dean of Students, Ms. Sophia Alum Acon, and the University Librarian, Dr. Frederick Kiwuwa Lugya.
